Graduates and Postgraduates
Each year, there are about 80 students involved in graduate (coursework and research) and postgraduate studies living at Newman College. This includes multiple PhD candidates. The majority of Newman's graduate and postgraduate residents are enrolled at The University of Melbourne.
Our graduate and postgraduates are drawn from across Australia and overseas. All are invited to join the Senior Common Room of the College, receive a $5,000 scholarship ($7,000 fo PhD candidates), and may remain in residence for the full calendar year.
Graduate and postgraduate students have greater independency as they live in either our purpose-built student accommodation building, or in share houses opposite the College on Swanston Street. Students reside in fully furnished, single rooms and share a bathroom with up to 4 other residents. House keeping staff clean the premises weekly.
