Australia Day Honours 2020

Three past members of the Newman Community were celebrated for service in their respective sectors over the Australia Day long-weekend.

James Gorman was awarded Companion (AC) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the finance and banking sectors through executive roles at the national and international level.

Dr Suzanne Bridget McNicol (former residential tutor) was awarded Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for significant servie to the law, and to the legal profession.

Kate Torney was awarded Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division for her service to broadcast media, and to the cultural sector.
