Baroness Hollins is an Emeritus Professor of the Psychiatry of Learning Disability at St George’s (University of London). She was President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists from 2005–2008 and in 2010 was created a Crossbench Life Peer in the House of Lords. She has served as President of the British Medical Association (BMA) and in 2014 was appointed to the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, an advisory body to the Holy Father. Baroness Hollins has also been a leader in the area of palliative care and assisting people with issues of grief and bereavement.
