The Legacy of Jean Vanier - A Personal Memoir

Eileen Glass A.M.

Date

12 March 2020 5.00pm

Location

The Oratory
Newman College
887 Swanston Street
Parkville

Eileen Glass AM has had a long involvement with Jean Vanier (RIP 2019) and L’Arche over almost five decades. A former Vice International Leader of L’Ache, who lives in Canberra, she works for L’Arche Australia and is a practicing spiritual director.

Jean Vanier, like Dom Hélder Câmara, was one of the great Christians of our times. Through his words and his life, Vanier proclaimed that we’re all the same, fragile and wounded, and that it is exactly there where we are beautiful and capable of connection to others.

We may not be saints, but we are humans and as it turns out, that perfectly equips us to be friends of Jesus and to follow the way of the heart.
