A Conversation on Communicating Christ in a Post-Modern World

Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli

Date

7 May 2015 5:00 pm

ARCHBISHOP CLAUDIO MARIA CELLI is president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, which encourages and supports the spread of the Gospel message in the many forms of social communication. Archbishop Celli helped establish the Vatican’s YouTube channel and Twitter account (@Pontifex), which currently has over 14 million followers in nine different languages, making Pope Francis the most retweeted person on the planet! Archbishop Celli advocates that Catholic media should be at the service of the world’s culture, stating that “Catholic media should know how to enter in this search that man embarks upon every day [...] as instruments that teach what it means to dialogue... to respect others’ positions... who know how to welcome... and who know how to understand.” Archbishop Celli is also a member of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples and the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelisation.

The Archbishop will be interviewed by FR PETER MALONE MSC, a member of SIGNIS: the World Association of Catholic Communicators, and an associate of the Australian Catholic Film Office.
