Our Neighbourhood

Newman College is located at the northern top end of the strip at 887 Swanston Street, Parkville 3052, a distance of one kilometre from the very heart of the city.

The tram stop is 100m away and every tram travelling north from the city along Swanston Street comes to the College. The College is 400m from Lygon Street, the gourmet centre of Melbourne, and short distances from the Melbourne Zoo, State Library, Federation Square, The Arts Centre, National Gallery of Victoria, the Rod Laver Tennis Centre, The Aquarium, Queen Victoria Markets, and Flemington Racecourse home of the Melbourne Cup. The University of Melbourne is on our doorstep and, of course, the famous MCG.

We are, in short, as we say in Melbourne, “a drop kick away from everything”.
